국가를 이끌어가는 사람들이 항상 올바른 길만 찾아가는것은 아니다. 보이지 않는 사회적권력이 국가와 국민을 수렁으로 빠뜨릴수있다. 지금 유행하고 있는 모든것들이 나와 세상을 망가뜨리는 것일수도 있다.

국가가 하란대로, 위에서 지시한대로, 세상의 유행이 그러하니까, 나만 다른생각 가지면 눈치보이니까, 대충 눈치껏 남들 하는대로 따라가는게 외롭지 않으니까, 나만 왕따 될까봐, 말 안들으면 불이익 당할까봐

분명 내 스스로의 깊은 마음속에는 이건 좀 아닌거 같은데 싶은 생각이 들면서도 에이 내가 뭔 영향력이 있다고 나하나 시키는대로 한다고 세상이 망하는것도 아닌데 소란피우지말고 그냥 시키는대로나 하자. 그래도 나는 조직에 대한 충성도가 높은 사람이기때문에 그 어떤것도 까라면 깔수 있어야돼. 나는 위에서 시키는것이라면 죽는 시늉도 할 수 있을 정도로 충성심이 대단한 사람이다. 난 조직을 위해 뭐든 헌신할 수 있는 훌륭한 인재다.

이런 생각을 하며 조직의 그 어떤 명령에도 충성하는걸 훌륭한 가치로 자부하는 사람이 있다면 한나아렌트의 <예루살렘의 아이히만>을 읽어보시길 추천한다.

사실 따지고 보면 위에서 시키는대로 순수한 충성심으로 헌신할 수 있는것은 상부에서 합리적이고 좋은 판단을 내릴것이라는 믿음과 확신이 있기 때문에 나는 그 어떤 비판적인 생각도 없이 내 영혼 다 받쳐 헌신할 수 있는것이다.

그렇기에 좋은 조직, 좋은 리더는 조직원들이 각자 맡은바 자기 분담된 것만 아무 잡생각 없이 집중하도록 해줄수 있어야 한다. 한 조직의 주차요원 단기알바생까지 조직의 안위를 걱정하고 있다면 그 조직은 문제가 심각하다는것. 

시킨일을 제시간에 처리하기도 힘든데 사소한것 하나하나 이게 맞나? 이걸 왜 시킨걸까? 무슨 꿍꿍이지? 이런 잡생각을 조직원들이 하게 만드는 리더는 조직을 이끌 자격이 없다.

그래서 리더가 지시하는 방향대로 구성원들이 잘 따르기를 원하고 충성심 높은 헌신적인 조직원들을 원한다면 조직의 수장이 항상 바른판단을 내린다는 신뢰를 모든이들에게 보여줄 수 있어야 한다.

국민과 국가의 관계에서도 국민이 국가를 신뢰하지 못하면 국민은 자기 본업에 충실할 수 없고 국민 개개인이 국가를 감시해야 될것 같은 스트레스를 받게되며 그에따라 나타나는 전체적인 낭비와 비효율은 국가를 비생산적으로 퇴보시키는 것이 된다.

뭔가 이상한 느낌은 드는데 확신이 안든다 싶을때는 일단 말 안듣고 한번쯤은 태클을 걸어보는게 맞다고 본다.

내가 판단이 틀렸다면 위에서 왜 이게 필요한 일인지 수긍이 되도록 설득을 시켜줄것이고, 만약 그런 설득의 과정없이 강압적으로 따르라 압박하는건 뭔가 구린게 있으니까 설득을 못시키는것이니 그런일은 따르지 말아야 한다.

인정과 의리라는 이유로 따라줘봤자 옳지 못한 일을 저지르는 사람들은 정작 본인들이 정의가 없고 의리가 없기 때문에 문제가 생길경우 무책임하게 회피하고 도망가버려서 책임감있는 나만 그들의 죄값까지 모조리 독박 써버릴수 있으니 이건 아니다 싶은일에는 절대 물러서지 말고 태클 한번 걸어봐야 한다.

한나 아렌트도 <예루살렘의 아이히만>에서 무조건적인 충성심에 대한 문제점을 지적하고 있다. 유대인들을 무자비하게 학살하여 전범이 된 나치 친위대들은 악마같고 잔인한 사람들이 아니라 지극히 평범하고 성실하여 상부의 명령을 충실히 따르는 착한 사람들이었다며 그러한 악의 평범성이 얼마나 큰 파장을 일으킬수 있는지 경악을 금치 못한다.

한나 아렌트는 평범하고 성실한 그들이 어떻게 그런 잔악한 전범이 되어버린것인가에 대해 그들은 독자적 사유능력 없이 너무 성실하고 충직하기만 했던 탓이었다며 개개인의 사유의 힘을 길러내고 자기 생각을 가지고 그에 따라 행동하는것이 악의 평범성의 함정으로부터 벗어날 수 있는 길이라고 주장한다.

요약하자면 공동체가 바르게 운영되기 위해서는 우선적으로 리더들이 바른 판단에 따라 구성원들에게 신뢰와 확신을 주는 운영을 하는것이 중요하고, 조직의 구성원들은 평상시에 비판적인 사유의 힘을 길러 어떤것이 옳은것이고 옳지못한것인가에 대한 판단을 하는 습관을 들여야 뭔가 이상한것이 감지되었을때 따를지 말아야할지에 대한 판단을 빠르게 내릴수 있게 된다.
