— 아, 난 그런뜻이 아니었는데...오해야.
“나는 그런 뜻으로 말한게 아니었는데…”
사회생활이나 대인관계에서 자주 발생할 수 있는 상황이다. 인간관계의 많은부분이 상대의 언행을 잘못 해석해서 오해하는 이유로 발생된다.
의사소통에 오해가 발생되지 않으려면 상대가 자주쓰는 언어들을 분석하여 그 사전적 의미가 아닌 실제의 의미를 따로 기억하고 인지해야 한다.
우리가 외국어 시험을 치를때에도 각 시험별 최빈출 어휘를 따로 살피고, 같은 단어라도 시험종류에 따라 그 주요의미가 조금씩 달라지듯이 사회속 대인관계를 할때 그 조직속에서 자주쓰이는 언어의 “쪼”(관습화된 의미)같은 것을 인지를 하고 있어야 의사소통에 오해가 생기지 않는다.
이러한 쪼를 이해하지 못하고 언어나 표현의 사전적 의미만을 고집하거나 내 기준으로만 상대의 언행을 바라본다면 분명 상대는 호감을 표시한건데 나는 구박받고 있다고 오해하여 상대를 미워하게 될 수도 있다.
직접적인 불만을 표시하면 상대에게서 돌아오는 반응은 “아 그런뜻이 아니었는데..내 진의는 그것이 아니다"라는 식이다.
그런 상대방을 보며 “참 뻔뻔하다 자기 잘못이 뭔지 모르고있다"고 타박하겠지만 만약 이러한 경우들이 내 주변에서 자주 반복된다면 내가 사람들과 관계할때 상대방의 쪼를 이해하지 못한 탓은 아닌지를 한번 돌아봐야 한다.
물론, 굳이 잘잘못을 따지면 언어를 자기쪼대로 사용해서 주변의 오해를 불러일으키는 사람이 문제이긴한데, 내 삶에서 최대한 에너지 누수를 방지하여 내 삶에 집중하고 행복하게 살기 위해서는 그런 사람들을 일일이 교정하고 바로잡는데 힘을 빼는것보다 차라리 내가 상대방의 쪼를 이해하고 내가 알아서 잘 해석해서 오해없이 사는 편이 내 마음도 편하고 쓸데없는 갈등으로 힘빠지는 일도 줄일수 있다는 것이다.
이런 문제 때문에 사람과 교류할때나 사회생활 할때 쓸데없이 소모적인 갈등이 발생되는 것인데, 이렇듯 사람들마다의 쪼를 이해하고 받아들이지 못한채 하나의 고정된 언어잣대로 수많은 다양한 사람들의 표현을 끼어맞추려 든다면 내 주변은 온통 오해와 갈등의 분탕으로 점철된 인생사가 펼쳐지게 되는것을 막을수가 없다.
