두려움이란 많은 원천을 가지고 있다.

펠레폰네소스 전쟁을 일으킨 투키디데스의 함정도 두려움과 지레짐작의 합작품으로 선제공격을 하게 만든 비슷한 예이다.

국가간의 관계이든 남녀관계든 인간관계의 본질에서 벗어나지 못하며 모든 관계의 많은 부분이 오셀로의 오류를 극복하지 못한데서 비극이 펼쳐진다.

지금 내앞에 함께 하는 상대방은 과거의 그 어떤사람과 같은 사람이 아닌데 그사람이 보이는 어떠한 행동과 비슷한 상황이 나의 트라우마를 자극시키고 방어기제를 발동시키게 된다.

남녀사이의 썸의 붕괴, 연인사이의 오해와 다툼들, 묻지마 폭행, 국가간의 전쟁과 갈등 이 모두가 자기자신의 두려움과 오해망상을 극복하지 못한 자격지심으로 발생되는 문제들이다.

인간에게는 누구에게나 공격본능이 있기때문에 상대의 공격본능을 자극시키지 않도록 조심해야한다는 프로이트의 말처럼

누군가가 나를 이유없이 공격하고 아프게 할때 그 즉시 반격하고 공격하기 보다 혹시 내가 상대의 공격본능을 자극시킨것이 있는게 아닌지 한번쯤 제3자적 시점에서 관계를 재구성 해볼 필요가 있다.

상대의 이유없는 배신이나 이유없는 공격들에 내가 상대의 불안요소를 자극시켜 저런행동을 유도시킨것은 아닌지 자기자신을 먼저 성찰해보고, 상대의 배신이나 공격에 나또한 맞배신이나 맞공격을 취하기 전에 상대가 왜 그런행동을 하게 되었는지 대화를 나눠본뒤, 서로의 오해를 풀고 상대에게 불안을 일으킬만한 행동을 교정하는 노력을 해보고나서 그래도 상대가 바뀌지않고 그대로라면 그때가서 미러링을 하든 싸우든 손절하든하면 된다.

관계를 풀어내기 위한 이러한 과정에서 상대와 오해를 풀기전까지 상대가 주는 상처들을 기꺼이 받아내고 버텨내는 인내력, 나에게 상처주고 공격하려는 상대에게 한번더 손내밀고 상대의 입장을 헤아려보려는 용기가 필요하다.

단, 주의할것은 내가 너무 무조건 다 받아주고 참아주기만 한다면 상대로하여금 자신의 공격행동들이 타당하다는 잘못된 신호를 줄 수 있고, 나 또한 그동안 인내한 시간들속에서 보상심리가 쌓여가고 보복심리가 발동하기때문에 사람관계에서 분노와 미움의 감정이 생기기전에 풀어야한다.

분노와 증오의 감정이 들기시작하면 이건 문제가 커졌단 뜻이고 차라리 이럴땐 공백기를 오래 갖는편이 나을 수 있다.
